Photographer Thom Davis of Ferndale WA visited the Sculpture Forest for his birthday celebration and was particularly entranced by Sue Taves‘ elegant and meaningful We Are Water sculpture.

“I took a trip to the Price Sculpture Forest on my 53rd birthday with my significant friend, Buffy.  We’d been to Big Rock Garden in Bellingham, but never heard of the Price Sculpture Forest until recently. It seemed like a great destination for a birthday adventure.  The walk through the woods on the winding trails looking for artwork around each bend brought us both smiles and laughter.  The size of the sculptures, along with their history provided through the QR Codes, was an added bonus. It was an all-around great day.

I took this photo on the way out when the sun was peeking through the clouds a bit. The Geologist in me was drawn to the basalt while the artist in me was intrigued by the smooth vs. rough aspects of the piece.”

Thank you, Thom and Sue!
