SUMMARY
Elizabeth Berrien is a world renowned artist whose innovative techniques helped launch wire sculpture as a dynamic art form decades ago. She creates new art from her Wire Zoo Studio in Olympia, Washington. Her sculptures are exhibited in many private and public collections around the world. “Cloud Heron” conceptually began as a full bodied, representational heron. During the creative construction process, Elizabeth took note of the soft effect that the untwisted wire on the right was creating. She then moved the sculpture in a new direction to give the appearance of the heron flying out of a cloud while also enabling a sense of movement and lightness as the bird flies between the trees of the Forest.
