SUMMARY
Elizabeth Berrien is a world renowned wire sculptor who works from her Wire Zoo Studio in Olympia, Washington. Her innovative wire sculpture methods helped launch wire sculpture as a dynamic art form decades ago. Golden Pegasus is one of several large Pegasus installations that Elizabeth has created. Siblings of the Sculpture Forest’s Pegasus have appeared in a museum, department store, public buildings, and one is currently flying in the atrium of the Louisville International Airport. To perform this complex installation, Elizabeth enlisted the aid of Shaun Sears, star of an Animal Planet TV show and accomplished tree climber. Golden Pegasus is an unexpected apparition flying through this opening in the forest, one that you may need to search to find. Yet this is a 3/4 life size adult horse with a wingspan of 17 feet when the wings are spread, right in front of you.
