SUMMARY

MacRae Wylde is a metal sculptor from Hood River, Oregon. He takes on many different topics, ranging from fun to the environment to truth and perspective. He is a rising sculptor with an increasing number of public installations throughout the US and winner of sculpture awards. “Inside Out 14 and 15” reminds people that different people have different perspectives, and both can be valid. The “D” shaped piece was cut from the same sheet of metal that forms the “U” shaped piece. Yet they are completely different. Inside Out is about different viewpoints just as this location provides a different viewpoint of Penn Cove through protected trees.

ABOUT THE SCULPTURE

Inside Out 14 and 15 reminds people that there are multiple perspectives on the same thing.  Different people have different perspectives, and both can be valid. When someone in a room of a house looks through a window at the world outside, the perspective is completely different than someone standing out in the yard looking at that same window on the side of the house. This pair goes together as a set, representing two different perspectives.  The “D” shaped piece was cut from the same sheet of metal that forms the “U” shaped piece.  Yet they are completely different and give a completely different perspective on how the metal can be represented and formed.
