The Board of the Whidbey Island Garden Tour has kindly provided us with a grant to help further improve accessibility on our Nature Nurtured trail for mobility challenged visitors.  The upper flat Nature Nurtured trail was intentionally designed to be as reasonably accessible as possible for a dirt forest path.  Many participants using wheelchairs, walkers, mobility scooters, canes, and such have accordingly been able to venture out into a beautiful forest path while also experiencing nature-integrated outdoor sculpture.  As hundreds of thousands of visiting feet and wheels have gradually worn sections of trail, some roots and rocks have gradually become more exposed than when we first opened the trails to the public.  WIGT’s grant will help enable us to smooth out these sections and ensure ongoing accessibility for as many people as possible.

Thank you for supporting visitors of all kinds to our community sculpture park, Whidbey Island Garden Tour team!
