Collaboration and mentorship in the arts can be a joyful, rewarding experience for all involved. Maria Wickwire, the artist who created the new thought-provoking bronze sculpture “Anillos” that is exhibited near the entrance to the Sculpture Forest, is in the middle of this photo, flanked by both mentor and mentee. Maria invited her early mentor Francisco Salgado from Portland OR to join her, and also invited her current apprentice Tia Whitney Kurtz from Anacortes WA. The three “mentor generations” of accomplished artists converged on the Sculpture Forest and surrounded themselves with art and laughter.
Thank you for sharing your art and message with the world, Maria!
