Fall is a beautiful time of year to ride your bicycles around the back roads of Whidbey Island.  An official Island County bike route even starts/ends at the Sculpture Forest.  Over a year ago, Ken Price collaborated with his local metalsmith friend Ben Brager to create a bicycle rack for the Sculpture Forest that serves both art and utility for our biking visitors.

Ken’s wife Pat loved biking and was also an active volunteer with multiple local environmental groups.  In celebration of Pat’s memory, Ken and Ben designed the concept of a bicycle rack where each vertical piece depicts local animals that represent different causes she supported, titling it “Because She Loved Them”.  The duo constructed the concept, and Ken donated it to the park for everyone to enjoy.  Art and function unite.  Pedal on over to check it out.

Thank you for sharing with everyone, Ken!
