The beauty of exploring the backroads of Whidbey Island by bike is a special treat, especially during summer weather. An official Island County bike route actually begins/ends at the Sculpture Forest.
Ken Price designed with a friend and donated the custom bike rack available for bicyclists at the entrance to the park, in memory of his wife Pat Price who enjoyed bicycling and was an avid local environmental volunteer. The bike rack is created of metal art showing local wildlife of an orca, eagle, salmon, and crab. The park trails are designed for pedestrian use, so this gives visiting bicyclists a convenient and lockable place to store their bikes while wandering through art and nature.
Photo is of bicyclists Al and Mike, part of the South Island Bike Whidbey group who planned a ride to the Sculpture Forest.
