Oh, yes. Local wood artist Pat McVay has some BIG ideas for expanding his existing sculpture “Icarus Was Here”, and you will be able to see the next phase very soon. If you visit soon and see more feathers and spacial expansion than before, you are seeing the beginning of phase 2. We look forward to unveiling the rest of it during January. It will become the largest and most expansive sculpture so far in the entire Sculpture Forest!

The original version was terrific, though Pat saw even more possibilities in viscerally re-telling the story of Icarus’ feathers floating back to earth after his wax-covered wings melted when he flew too close to the sun. Stay tuned…
