We want everyone to be able to experience the Sculpture Forest, regardless of accessibility preferences. This is one of the reasons why there are two unique loop trails, with the first trail (Nature Nurtured) specifically designed to be as flat and accessible as is reasonably possible in a natural, dirt, forested path environment. We know of a number of people who have enjoyed the park with all types of accessibility preferences, even though the hardpacked surface of the trail is not (yet) a full ADA design.

Martin Pearce, partner Shane Brooks, and their 15 year old son Xander recently visited the Sculpture Forest. They are from Bellevue WA and also are neighbors of the park with their nearby Coupeville vacation home. They not only explored all of Nature Nurtured, but also gamely took on the entire steeper / non-ADA Whimsy Way trail. Nothing stops this trio!

“Getting around the first loop was SUPER easy for us to push our son as well as for him to navigate independently, which was awesome. The Sculpture Forest exceeded expectations on many levels… truly a gem and can’t wait to get others there to experience it as well.”

Thank you for sharing your photos and experiences, Xander, Martin, and Shane!
