Taya Gray from Anacortes took her Mom to the Sculpture Forest to celebrate her Mom’s birthday. I asked Taya which was her favorite sculpture. Her answer: the two Douglas fir cones in her photographs here. Love it! She appreciates that nature is art, too. That is a fundamental, integrated belief of the Sculpture Forest.
From Taya: “My camera helps me to see a different perspective when I’m on walks or hikes and am immersing myself in Mother nature and all her magic. Adding art and sculpture into an environment like that was a feast for my senses! Your project is a wonderland! My favorite sculpture was one I took a picture of: The two pine cones gently connected, resting on another branch. Although that wasn’t an official sculpture, your forest is participating beautifully!”
She also shared some favorite “official” sculptures, too, though her pine cones were a brand new favorite to hear from a participating visitor.
Thank you, Taya!
