“Wander/Wonder: A Sculptured Dance Happening” was a terrific success and a first for the Sculpture Forest. The choreography and dancing went flawlessly by all the professionals involved, with the dancers even modifying and improving their performances throughout the day. Each dancer’s first performance was different than their last performance as they started with great concepts and adapted them over time to the surrounding onsite environment, sculpture, and audiences.
There were many requests from the overflow audience for this event to come back in a new form next year. The choreographer and dancers are all excited to do that. So, if we can get arts funding for it over the coming year, the event will return. Stay tuned.
Thank you to choreographer Eva Stone, dancers Emily Schoen Branch, Hannah Simmons, Hutch Hagendorf, Ivana Lin, Joh Morrill, Julia Y. James, Kaelyn Lefferts, Leah Terada, Mary Sigward, and Zsilas Michael Hughes, and a special benefactor from the Seattle area who made the entire event possible. You all were, are, and will be amazing!
